Who doesn’t love the canvas of colors that dot the fall landscape? With one stroke of Mother Nature’s brush, the once green leaves turn into vibrant eye candy. Not only is this a visual feast, but there is an inspiring lesson to be learned here. This brings me to today’s word in our continuing series 42 Words to a Better You……..
How many of us have these great ideas, desires, and talents inside of us that we never act on? We keep telling ourselves that “one day, I’ll get to it.” I know I am guilty of this on numerous counts. One of my passions is drawing. It’s a zen thing for me. A way to express my inner self. I could draw for hours upon hours, yet, in the past I didn’t.
Why? Because I made excuses like, “there isn’t enough time” or “life gets in the way”. With excuses like that, time will slip away, I will not have pursued my drawings, and I will have not shared my gift with those I love and the world around me. I have eliminated my excuses and am drawing more than ever now. Here is a recent sketch. I was inspired by leaves one day.
Why? You ask. Leaves are most vibrant at the end of their lives. They spend most of their lives green and blending into their canopies– not expressing their individuality. It isn’t until they are about to make their journey from their branch to the ground below when they express their inner uniqueness and individual colors to the world. So, I pose the question, why wait for your life to go by to express your inner ideas, desires, and talents? Begin today to share who you are and what you want to share with the world. You can be vibrant right now and not have to wait.
“Don’t die with your music still inside you. Listen to your intuitive inner voice and find what passion stirs your soul. Listen to that inner voice, and don’t get to the end of your life and say, ‘What if my whole life has been wrong?” – Dr. Wayne Dyer (a man who has truly inspired me)
What are some of the things you have been putting off in your life that you could be doing right now?
