A look inside SKIT

Fall is here!

The amazing colors of the foliage are Mother Nature's open invitation to get outside and do some sketching and painting. I love being able to be outside and do on location, spur of the moment inkling watercolor sketches. Sometimes the thought of having to lug around all the tools (paper, paints, pens, pencils, brushes, etc...) would hold me back from getting outside and creating. I have a full size easel with a storage compartment, but its rather large and cumbersome for quick on the spot drawings.

Recently, I put together an "on-the-go" sketch kit that seems to be working well for me. I call it my SKIT (a mashup of Sketch and Kit).

My SKIT review.........

The Good

Holds all I need

Metal Clip board is wearing well and a good surface to work on

Metal clip firmly holds art in place

The Bad

Not the easiest to hold.  Would be great if it had a handle or strap on it.

The clasp that locks the lid shut does not firmly lock in place.

The Ugly

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

Although my SKIT may not be perfect, it's working well and I'm enjoying sketching outside while surrounded by the world's canvas. Get out there and Live Creatively!
