42 Words To A Better You

Douglas Adams is an author who has inspired my creative writing and love for his zany sci-fi.  In his book, “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, he poses that  “the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything is 42.”

Well, I recently have had the privilege of entering my 42nd year in the world.  What better way to launch my first  post into this galactic blog universe than by providing a list of 42 words of encouragement, enlightenment, entertainment and enterprise (no sci-fi pun intended.)  I came up with the list of 42 words as I was brainstorming on my morning commute one day.  Sadly, the commute was not exactly 42 minutes long.  LOL.  I will be adding words to this list over the next 42 days.  Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you can get the latest updates.  Also, I encourage you to participate by commenting on my blog.  Just scroll down to the bottom of the post to the comments section.

In the spirit of a space launch, let the word countdown begin………

  • 41.  Moment:  Be in the moment.  So much of our time is wasted dwelling of past situations that we cannot change or worrying about future events yet to occur.  Being focused on the “now” allows for the ultimate engagement of all of your senses in the current moment.  For more information on being in the moment, check out the following link http://www.eckharttolle.com/books/now/
  • 42.  Curiosity:  Be curious.  Instead of taking things for granted, adopt a sense of wonder as to how and why certain things function or exist.  Why is the sky  blue?  How does a clock keep time?  Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways?
